Scientists from Pennsylvania State University, USA, have revealed that Egyptians used the seeds of the tree 'Moringa oleifera' to make dirty water drinkable.

A protein in the tree's seeds kills bacteria by gathering them into groups that sank to the bottom of the containers in which the scientists conducted their experiment.

In addition, the scientists managed to calculate the best season to plant the trees. According to their estimates, protein has more effects when mature seeds are grown during the rainy season.
