The photos taken by the amateur photographer Karim Bouchetata in the Algerian city of Aïn Séfra, reflect this natural phenomenon, which was last recorded in the area in February 1979, when a snow storm, which lasted just over half an hour, surprised the residents. This time the snow lingered all day before melting.
However, it was enough to provide such a natural landscape and it was perpetuated over time.
“Everyone was surprised to see snow fall in the desert, it is a very rare phenomenon. It seemed incredible how the snow settled on the sand, ”commented the author of the images quoted by 'Today'.
