Sweden has once again shown that it is leading the way when it comes to caring for the environment. This European nation always surprises with its green initiatives that aim to respect our planet and raise awareness about the importance of living in harmony with our environment.
In these days, Sweden has inaugurated the first shopping center for recycled products in the world. This is ReTuna Återbruksgalleria whose particularity is to offer only second-hand, recycled or recovered objects.
Thus, in this gallery located in the city of Eskilstuna, it is possible to find bicycles, clothes, furniture and even construction materials, all donated by the people who visit the premises or well recovered through a municipal agreement.
The mall has fourteen stores where more than 50 employees work. There is also an organic restaurant, an educational center and a conference room. The idea of this initiative is to present a more sustainable business model and give our waste a new use.
"It is important for us that entrepreneurs have a double vision: that they know that they can earn money and at the same time save the planet. Therefore, the store actually does have a commercial purpose," explains Anna Bergström, one of the managers of this project.
