Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg and British writer, activist and columnist fromThe Guardian, George Monbiot, produced a short to highlight the need to protect, restore and use nature to combat the climate crisis.
“We are experiencing the beginning of a mass extinction. Our climate is collapsing. Children like me are putting aside their education to protest. But we can still fix this: you can fix this, ”says the Swedish activist. The short focuses on how living ecosystems (forests, swamps, etc.) can extract enormous amounts of carbon from the air and store them safely; a solution that, however, has been a minority focus in investments that seek to reduce emissions.
In the words of the film's director, Tom Mustill of Gripping Films: “We wanted to make a production that had the least possible environmental impact. We took trains in Sweden to interview Greta, we loaded our hybrid car at George's house and we used green energy to recover the edited and archival material that we got and not recording new things.
